2009 International Science and Engineering Visualization Challenge O International Science and Engineering Visualization Challenge é um concurso anual organizado pela National Science Foundation (NSF) e pela revista Science que premia fotos e ilustrações que ajudam a explicar e difundir estudos e conceitos científicos. A imagem abaixo ganhou o 1° lugar na categoria fotografia e é uma microscopia eletrônica mostrando fibras de resina em torno de uma espera de poliestireno e que serve também de metáfora para os esforços conjuntos necessários para salvar a Terra. The image above won the 1st prize in the photography category and is an electronic microscopy showing resin fibers on a polystyrene sphere, and that also serves as a metaphor for the joint efforts needed to save the Earth.
