Explorer 1 O satélite Explorer 1 foi a resposta dos americanos ao satélite soviético Sputnik. Lançado há 50 anos, em 31 de janeiro de 1948, este pequeno satélite de apenas 14 kg marcou o princípio da exploração espacial nos Estados Unidos. A foto abaixo é do Laboratório de Propulsão a Jato da NASA, que desenvolveu o satélite em apenas três meses, no site que homenageia o Explorer 1. The Explorer 1 satellite was the American comeback to the Soviet satellite Sputnik. Lauched 50 years ago, On January 31st 1948, this small satellite weighing just 14 kg marked the begining of space exploration in the United States. The photo above is by NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, who developed the satellite in only three months, in the website that celebrates Explorer 1.
